Behind the lens

Hi, I’m Euyjoo, the photographer behind We Were Here.

I started as a street photographer, drawn to moments that weren’t posed or planned. Faces, hands, small gestures, and the way people naturally move around each other. After more than a decade of photography and brand marketing, I’ve come back to something simple: the most meaningful photographs often come from people being together.

Today, I photograph people and the everyday places they call home for a while. I look for the moments that feel ordinary now, but become meaningful later.

My dad is part of the team as our videographer. He spent years documenting people, events, and everyday life around Camp Humphreys, learning to notice not only the main moment, but everything happening around it.

Together, we photograph and film the parts of life that are easy to miss.

Why

We Were Here.

Sometimes life takes us somewhere we did not choose. We arrive not knowing this place yet, knowing that one day we may leave it again.

Even so, there is a walk we take again. A hello we say for the first time. A street we did not plan to turn down. Small things. They turn into a park near home, a table at a familiar café, a friendship that started with nothing.

These are the moments that stay with us the longest — not because they were big, but because they were ordinary, and ours.

I photograph these seasons, places, and relationships as they happen. I want to record not only where you lived, but how you lived there. The places you came to know, the people you met, the things you tried, the person you were becoming.

Wherever you go next, I hope these photographs stay with you longer than the years themselves. That someday, without quite knowing why, you will miss a place you once called temporary.

You are here.

And someday, I will remind you that you were.
